If you’ve lived through these 9 experiences, you’re a stronger Christian than most

Have you ever looked back at certain moments in your life and realized just how much they shaped your faith?

Sometimes, it’s the toughest trials that deepen our relationship with God and strengthen our walk with Him.

While everyone’s journey is unique, there are certain experiences that test and refine our faith in ways that set us apart.

If you’ve been through some of these challenges, you might not even realize just how much they’ve molded you into a stronger Christian.

These experiences have a way of building resilience, deepening trust in God’s plan, and showing just how unwavering your faith really is.

Let’s dive into some of these defining moments that reveal the strength of your faith.

1) Enduring through struggles

I remember the time when I lost my job.

It was sudden, unexpected, and it felt like the bottom was falling out of my world.

I was left with bills to pay and a family to feed.

It was a dark time, but I clung to my faith. I prayed, read scriptures, and sought comfort in the community of my church.

And you know what? Even though it was hard, I felt God’s presence in my life stronger than ever before.

If you’ve been through something similar, where you had no choice but to lean on your faith, you’re stronger than you think.

2) Forgiving those who hurt us

There’s a saying that forgiveness is a gift you give yourself. But man, it’s not always easy.

I vividly recall when a close friend betrayed me.

The hurt ran deep and my initial reaction was anything but forgiveness.

But as a Christian, I knew that the path of forgiveness was not an option but a command.

I prayed for the strength to forgive and eventually, I did.

It wasn’t easy but it brought me a sense of peace that surpassed understanding.

If you’ve been able to genuinely forgive someone who hurt you deeply, trust me, your spiritual strength is formidable.

3) Living a life of service

Did you know that Mother Teresa, one of the most revered figures in Christianity, once said, “At the end of life we will not be judged by how many diplomas we have received, how much money we have made, how many great things we have done. We will be judged by ‘I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat, I was naked and you clothed me. I was homeless, and you took me in.'”?

The essence of Christianity is service to others.

If you’ve been dedicating your time to serving others, whether it’s volunteering at your local soup kitchen or simply being there for a friend in need, your spiritual resilience is likely stronger than you think.

4) Experiencing doubt and questioning

There’s a misconception that doubt and questioning are signs of a weak faith.

But the reality is quite the opposite.

The most profound spiritual growth often comes from wrestling with doubts and questions.

It’s in those moments of uncertainty that we seek God with all our hearts and come to understand Him more deeply.

When you have questioned everything, yet you held on, navigated through the fog of doubt, and emerged stronger in your faith, then your spiritual strength is truly commendable.

5) Staying faithful amidst tragedy

I remember when my world was shattered with the loss of a loved one.

It was a time when everything seemed dark and it felt like I was in the midst of a never-ending storm.

I questioned God, I questioned my faith, and I felt lost.

But in the midst of that pain, I found a strange comfort in my faith.

I leaned on God, even when I didn’t understand why things were happening the way they were.

If you’ve experienced a personal tragedy, yet you’ve held onto your faith, let me tell you – your spiritual strength is truly profound.

6) Resisting temptation

It’s a part of human nature to be tempted.

From something as simple as a piece of chocolate cake when we’re on a diet, to bigger, more consequential choices.

As Christians, we face temptations that challenge our faith and commitment to living righteously.

It’s not easy to resist, especially when the world around us often encourages us to take the easy route.

But if you’ve managed to stand your ground, resist temptation and choose your faith over fleeting pleasure, your spiritual strength is beyond admirable.

7) Remaining faithful in solitude

There was a time when I moved to a new city for work. I was alone and didn’t know anyone.

The loneliness was overwhelming at times. I missed my church, my support system.

But during those times of solitude, I found a unique connection with God.

It was just Him and me.

If you’ve experienced solitude and used that time to deepen your relationship with God instead of drifting away, you have demonstrated a spiritual strength that many lack.

8) Sharing your faith

Sharing our faith can be daunting.

Will we be ridiculed? Misunderstood? Or worse, will our words fall on deaf ears?

Despite these fears, if you’ve dared to share your faith with others, not shoving it down their throats but gently sharing the love of Christ, then your spiritual strength is indeed noteworthy.

9) Experiencing God’s grace

An interesting fact is that the word “grace” appears over 170 times in the New Testament alone.

Grace is unmerited favor, something we don’t deserve but receive anyway because of God’s immense love for us.

If you’ve experienced God’s grace in your life, recognized it and accepted it with humility and gratitude, then I believe your spiritual strength is extraordinary.

Each one of these experiences shapes us, molds us, and strengthens our faith.

So if you’ve lived through these experiences, remember, you’re a stronger Christian than most.
